Start your teaching career in Bexley, Bromley or Greenwich
The way that people enter the teaching profession is important and high quality Initial Teacher Training plays a critical role in setting early career teachers up for a successful and fulfilling career. Thames South TSH is passionate about working with our partners to grow the very best teachers across Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich.
We work with the DfE's lead providers and schools to make sure the routes into teaching are made clear and accessible for those in our region, as we aim to improve the quality of teaching and outcomes for our children.
Take a look at the DfE's digital brochure here for information about routes into teaching, pay and how to apply.
To find out more about the providers in our area and the routes into teaching they provide, please look at our Thames South TSH ITT Directory.
You can find links to providers' websites below, more information about our ITT partners, Bromley Schools' Collegiate and the University of Greenwich, as well as information about the DfE's 'Get Into Teaching' events.
If you are a school who are interested in hosting an ITT placement, or would like to talk about having an apprentice, please contact us at thamessouthtsh@nestschools.org.
Bromley Schools’ Collegiate has been providing Initial Teacher Training since 1993 and welcome applications from those just finishing university, as well as those who are career changers.
"This diversity in our intake is one of the strengths of our programme as we specifically look for candidates that want a career as a teacher and not just to gain Qualified Teacher Status. Typically, our intake ranges from those in their early 20s through to career changers in their 50s.
We value the range of life experiences and skills that everyone brings and this helps to shape them into effective teachers who put the holistic development of children and young people at the heart of their teaching. We focus our programme on equipping teachers with the knowledge and practical skills that will equip them for a rewarding career as a teacher serving their local community."
Do you have unqualified teachers or instructors within your school or Trust that you want to support to gain QTS? Bromley Schools’ Collegiate offer an Assessment Only Route for those staff that are already teaching within schools, who do not hold QTS.
